Good Day Anyway

Alright, so I was feeling down and out last night...maybe a little stressed. After reading through that post, it was downright depressing! So sorry for that.

I realize we all have down days, but today is looking up, so I want to rejoice!!! Even at 4:22pm, I think I not only will survive, but I'll make it out with only a scrape or two.

Tanner is playing a vTech game console Ryan's sister kindly passed on to us...I personally can play it better than any wii game...move over Tanner!

As I was panicking last night about a 'deadline' for work, I tried doing it at home, then opted to wake up at the crack of dawn and go into work before my kids would be awake...from like 6-7ish. After all, I promised Ryan he could do homework ALL DAY LONG! I got up at five, persuaded Ryan to help me get the computer working (operator error, duh!) and got my work done before the kids were awake, at home!!!

I ran several errands after Ryan come home for a break from homework, played with some friends outside, made four dozen ginger cookies, and ate one of those dozen (with the help of Tanner...he had a couple...I hope :) ) and I'm hoping I'll get my visiting teaching done for the first time in a long while. I got 5 loads of laundry done...and only have one left to put away...it's still in the dryer...it has to age to be good, you know!

Here's a few pictures from the last LONG while...

We put the Grizwalds to shame. The ride home after Thanksgiving Dinner was pleasant and we had no problems! Thanks Dad and Keith, for rigging this!

One VERY happy boy...Gramma and Papa Crandall gave Tanner Bwoo Cowboy Boots! for his birthday. The boy is in HEAVEN!

Tanner with his Bwoo Shark Birfday Cake. The fishies are flatened Starbursts...and that shark is his favorite tub toy! We'll have to sanitize it before Saturday:)

It's hard to be one, and it's hard to have a hand full of frosting when you're tired and just want to finish your nap.

"Mom! Mom! Mom!!!" Yeah...by like the seventh time this tree has fallen over, we have almost given up! Poor little thing!

" I didn't do it!!! I was only looking at the lights! With my fingers."

"Whose birthday part is this anyways?" I don't think Taylor opened a single present...Tanner was a big helper...I think it will be like that for a while.
Conclusion:
"Birthday Party" for Tanner at our house,
Saturday the 13th at 3:00 pm.
We'll be eating cake (shark cake) and ice cream and playing a fun game in the snow or something if there isn't snow...Come if you'd like!
Come if you've got nothing else to do!

Oh, see you already made a shark cake! Now you can totally be off the hook for the next one. No need to do two. But more power to you if you want to. It turned out great. Love the starburst fish!

Oh Tanners face with his shark cake is priceless. You can tell it totally made his day! But the look on Taylor's face when he was caught at the Christmas tree is even better. I love it!

Bahahaha, so funny that your kids pull your tree down, I only laugh because it hasn't happened to me....yet. Two Birthdays in December! How fun and exhausting, you are amazing. I am still just thinking about Christmas cards and treats for friends and presents and ahahaha. It's probably about time to execute. I should be more stressed out:). I hope you have a great night!

This is so unfair for you! Three birthdays and Christmas in the same month! I am going crazy with just one birthday in December. It breaks the bank.

Love the job you did on the cake. Check out my blog soon (next 2-3 days, or today if the new internet works well) to see Curtis's cake. I was feeling inventive.

LOVE the shark cake. We moms have interesting adventures, don't we? LOL By the way, I love your tree. :-) We'll be doing the birthday thang all day on the 13th, too! Pray for me, and I'll pray for you. Deal?

:-)

I just read over your post again. You are getting so much done! You are my hero!

i love your new background. very cute! :) i only have a minute...paisley is waking up.
for the frosting...the recipe is:

1 1/2 to 2 cups powdered(sp?) sugar
1 egg white

beat together.

easy as that!
i didn't use egg whites so that the kids could eat it, so i got meringue powder and just followed those directions for the egg whites.

it was so much fun making the houses! let me know how yours turn out!

Happy Birthday Tanner! Happy Birthday Taylor! Sorry I've missed it. Your tree looks great. And I had to laugh at your comment about it falling over seven times. Luckily, we haven't had our tree fall over yet. That I can remember, or that I know of anyway.
Great pictures. Thanks for posting. Glad things are looking up. And WOW! You've gotten a TON accomplished! Treat yourself! Come up for a visit (when the snow dries off the freeway, that is.)
