Back in the day, when I was single, or maybe even married, but definitely before I had children, I worked at Porter's, a popular craft store in Rexburg. It's where I met Ryan....his mom trained me, and set me up with her son, and the rest is history!
The job was AMAZING. I loved it! Besides learning many different crafty things, I got to demonstrate how to use the products by DOING crafts....can you say DREAM JOB?!
On occasion, when items weren't moving off the shelves fast enough, I was asked to 'make it work' and figure out a way to lure the customers in, by making something awesome.
So when wooden trays were a little stagnant, I had this brilliant idea: Checkerboard!
It was a labor of love, and I put too much time into it to sell it to the many crafters who just wanted to buy the floor model instead of making their own, but I held out....long enough (3 year) to take it with me when I moved on in life.
A few days ago, I pulled it out and taught Tanner and Taylor, one-on-one, how to play checkers. Then I let them have at it. :)
They played for HOURS!!!!! Brings back all the "King Me" memories of my childhood.

Love it! I think its time to teach my boys!
So cute! I actually never learned to play checkers as a kid . . . maybe a family Christmas present this year? :)
