I just bit the bullet and told them to go out and play....about every 30 minutes or so, they'd come back in to warm up by the raging fire, to dry the gloves and use the potty, then get dressed and head back outside to finish their sledding hill in our front yard.
we had so much snow on the edge (from shoveling the driveway) that the very front corner of our yard had twice as much and was the PERFECT height (about 5 feet high!) for the boys to climb up, and then sled down into the middle of the yard.
So happy that they're all old enough to get 'mostly' dressed themselves and to have fun playing together.
Even Kortlen can get his pants and hat, and coat on by himself. I help tie boots and just have to open the door for them after tightening mittens.
Best.year.ever for kids who LOVE playing in the snow!!! No matter the temperature!
