Maybe you're thinking, "why does she even ask for something like that?" Let me explain.
I get my hair cut about once or twice a year. Not because we're 'students', well, Ryan is, but the main reason is that I generally don't like new hair styles on me. If you have seen me recently, though, you've probably noticed this mop-like tangle of curls, with two wannabe layers, and friz. Lots of friz. Granted, the gal that cut my hair last time was AWESOME, and did EXACTLY as I told her, I really liked what she did. I just didn't maintain it, for whatever reason (kids, money, time, lack of courage to have it whacked off again) but decided it was time. Time to look sophisticted and not like I was in high school...since I've had essentially the same hair style since seventh grade...long, and curly.
So, without messing with your heads any further...well, maybe just a little: I was thinking along the lines of A....meaning, A-line. Short in the back and long in the front...but much shorter than what this gal did today. However, we talked about my hair, what I liked and disliked, how her hair is the same as mine...texture, curl, trouble straightening, unruly curl, etc, etc, etc, and we decided on something that would work better, given my hectic lifestyle right now...and this, my friends, is what we have:
This hair has survived a day of work, groceries, playing, tub-time and a movie...yup, it's end of the day, but I'm impressed, and I LOVE IT!!!

A friend, make that two, got me hooked on this great salon in our area. It's really nice (very spa like, and trendy), has great service (yummy hot chocolate in a white spa mug), and they educate you about your hair (and products, which I'm really starting to like...just got a few starter products... travel size...can't afford the regular!) while they wash, condition, treat, cut, and style your hair. I didn't get any color, the moo-la was only so much. :) I'm sure she would have waxed my eyebrows if I'd let or told her (it's extra, by the way), but I had already paid out enough. It is a litte pricey, definately more than I would pay on a normal haircut, but, SO WORTH IT TO ME!!! (Keep in mind I'm used to my mom cutting my hair, in exchange for being a good daughter :) ). It was an hour and a half of heaven! I was giddy, it was so fun!
I feel so rejuvinated, like I'm 25, not 19, and best of all, Ryan really likes it! I can't wait to try it curly! :) My stylist showed me how to do it curly, then straight, and I think I'm really going to enjoy having my hair 'pampered'.
Poor Ryan. I already set up a follow-up appointment for Friday, April 17th at 9:00 am to get a 'trim'. He's going to be sorry he started something!!!

So cute!!! I'm going to have to call you to get the name of that salon! You have me sold - I know what I'm doing for my birthday:) I've had such a hard time finding someone I like to cut my hair - it seems that no matter how hard I try to change my style, it always looks the same! Happy Birthday:)
How funny....that is exactly what I want for my birthday! :) I don't think I can hold out another week and half, my hair is getting out of control. My friend normally does it for free, and she is out of town, so I might have to break down and go to a salon (where it is pricey), but looking at your adorable, and I mean adorable, hair style, makes me want to go and get it done today!
Isn't it fun going to a salon where they pamper you? (My wheels are starting to turn, maybe that is what I'll do today......)
I love it, and Happy birthday! And I love your cute birthday banner!
It looks great! Doesn't it feel great to be pampered - that is an excellent present!
Super Duper Darling!! I love it! You look simply fabulous. Congratulations on a great Birthday Hair-do!! Hugs - Auntie Cari
Happy Late Birthday! And you hair is super cute! I wish I was brave, but I'm SO not. As I ;lucking out grays this morning I thought MAYBE it might be time for some color. But I don't know....
YEA!!! I LOVE the Defining Line - I'm going today, after a 6 month hiatus from haircutting - and I LOVE, LoVe, LOVE, your hair cut! Beautiful!!!! Who did your hair? Marci? She's my favorite! And although it IS pricey, I've found the older I get, the more acceptable the indulgence! :) I also have a question for you . . . I have this clocky-thing that I got from the DI that I'm wondering if you would help me redo - with your decorating magic!? I know you would make it lovely and I can't even come up with ideas! Do you have any days that you don't work and would like to bring your boys and come play with us? :)
