This morning I got the giant 10 inch long bird's nest out of my dryer vent. Not a Sunday activity, by any means, but their scritchity-scratchity little feet on that aluminum tubing down to the bottom of the dryer
(yes, the little birdies, three to be exact, were getting clear to the back of 5 feet of dryer vent...shudder) was driving me nuts and giving me the heebie-jeebies. I also had to wash and dry crib bedding and blankets from a cheap leaky diaper. I didn't think "cause of fire: bird's nest in the dryer" would be a viable statement on our Renter's Insurance claim to burning down the apartment building. Maybe I should take pictures next time...then they'd believe me.
. . .
Tanner prayed over breakfast this morning that Kortlen could be a big brother. *bwahahaha!*
. . .
Taylor asked me yesterday "how many more minutes till we have a baby sister?" and I laughed hysterically. Then I cried.
. . .
Tanner is
also saving his money to buy a house.
I think somebody has big ears.
. . .
I have three of my four pillows finished. I'm trying to get up the guts to embellish one with doilies. Do I? Don't I? I've got a 20' solid blue pillow that I was going to do rosettes on...but a doily sounds easier...LOL! Which would look better?
. . .
Staying home from church because my sunbeam now has croup. I think I'll listen to some of my favorite Conference Talks and read the Sunday School lesson...
. . .
As part of our "Family Committment Fee" on the swim team, I went and timed at a swim meet last night. It was a blast.
Super fun to re-live the glory days.
. . .
Making cherry cream pie...or apple...if it doesn't warm up here, I'm thinking hot apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Yum!
. . .
My hair is long enough to French braid...which kinda-sorta makes me look homely, but it was easier than trying to get it to curl this morning. Getting it cut on Tuesday...trim? or CUT?

gosh...ok your bag is adorable. love the brown leather with the black and white fabric AND the fancy hardware! it is so cute that your son is saving up for a house and that they want another little one. a sister WOULD be fun! and i would comment on whether you should trim or cut your hair but i can't seem to recall you being in any pictures!! i admit there have been times i've missed a picture moment due to me being only in a bathrobe (or less actually) so i totally understand but i think you should get that beautiful face of yours in more pictures!!...i just scrolled through MONTHS of your blog to find one and first of all, I AM SO JEALOUS OF ALL YOUR TALENTS!! well you're the one who put in all the practice but i with i had someone like you around to teach me. how would it be to dream up an idea and know exactly what to do to produce it??? my ideas are all wasted. boo. anyway. i finally found one on feb 8th at katelyn's volleyball districts!! it's probably pretty long 3 months later! personally i love long hair but i say whatever is easiest with 3 energetic boys!! ha.
You're so great. I love random posts. Truly. Today was one of those days that I wish I was staying home from church . . . that's naughty, but today was just kinda . . . feeling lazy. And the real point is that we all went anyway. Blessed for obedience. And I hope you know that you are so inspiring to me. All too often, for whatever reason, I get overwhelmed thinking of projects -- which then turns into doing nothing. But seeing all your busy-ness lately has got me wanting to finally break out my sewing machine and stop being such a woosie. So thank you for sharing what you're doing and what you're wanting to do. It's good for me and helps me realize that life isn't as hard as I make it to be sometimes.
Also. I think you should do the doily WITH rosettes! I'm all about making things far more complicated than they need to be. :) Over-embellishment. That's the name of my game.
Ahhh...rosettes! The best! Do it! You know you want to...Christy and I got a kick out of your post today!
CUT IT! CUT IT! {seriously, short hair is so.much.fun! period!
i so should have stayed home from church today....picture me dragging a 4 year old out by the arm, while carrying a 2 1/2 year old in one arm--both were crying/screaming...and we were sitting on the front row. :)
and about the "tender mercies"....i may have to do a post on an experience that happened friday. it is amazing how much the lord really does care about each of us! even the little things!
Deanna--SUCH. CUTE. PICTURES! You have a skill in photography I wish I had! And that Kortlen is so adorable and getting so big! And happy anniversary! And you're just so crafty and creative. I've always loved that about you--what a good homemaker you are...sewing, cooking (yum, I still remember some of those desserts you made for us in college), photography, and just cute crafts and such. Please share some of your talent with me! ;)
