We decided to take a nice afternoon stroll over to a local park and try to get some fun shots of the boys and a less than professional family picture...we got three blocks and went home, but it took us well into two hours.
Tanner decided that he didn't want to stay with mommy and daddy and decided to go tearing off through a cemetery (we took a short-cut through a cemetery to the park because it isn't so stinking hot, and less traffic). We decided that because we had told him we were leaving without him, we needed to follow through and we would 'let him get lost'. So we hunted our child for almost two hours. I'm telling you - the kid is fearless. We began by continuing on our walk, and when he was a few hundred yards behind us, we hid behind a tree - thinking he'd be scared and start screaming, and then we'd say, "There you are! We lost you! And You couldn't find us! You'd better stay with mommy and daddy!" - well, almost two hours into our 'hunt', he finally found his way back to the main cemetery road (this cemetery is ancient with gorgeous tall trees and headstones everywhere...kindof morbid, come to think of it - but it's nice and cool, and quiet.) and onto the park.
The thing is, to get from the cemetery to the park, you have to 'sneek' through the fence, where it ends about a foot from a canal - barely wide enough for a stroller - and Tanner didn't even care!!!!! I was mortified! Ryan was within five feet of him, but just the thought of my little 2 1/2 year old going to the park by himself and past that canal...I don't know what we're going to do in San Diego. We thought this 'experience' would help him to see that he could get lost if he doesn't stay with mommy and daddy, but it didn't work...all the way home he kept wandering...ADD? Bad Parenting? I don't know.
After our 'excursion', we had a yummy dinner of Pork Ribs, potatos and green beans, with a cheapie little Jell-o brand desert...and then poor Ryan just hurls it all in the bathroom...the man completely emptied his dinner in the toilet, on the wall, the rugs and the shower curtin...so now my Sunday has become Wash-Day, and I think I'll spend the night on the couch. I hope he gets to feeling better - he had a fun day planned tomorrow - frisbe golf with the buddies at seven and then work from 11 am - 11 pm...It stinks to take a day off and not even be able to enjoy it!
Tanner finally crashed - after a car ride around Idaho Falls. I just caved. I couldn't do it tonight...So let me hear it...I drove my kid to sleep. As soon as those towels and rugs are washed and dried, I'm getting some shut eye...then on to tackle another day...
My goal is to get my 'garden plot' cleared out Monday morning - I am too late to plant anything much, but when I went to check up on my squashes, they were doing pretty good! I think I'll plant a few rows of green beans...maybe beats and radishes, and pray that something comes of them...I asked for a plot, so now I better use it!
All in a day's work, a good laugh, a teaching moment and life experience! Here's to today and my wonderful tomorrow.

Deanna, once again, I don't know how you do it all! You are such an amazing person...your life is filled with so many adventures! I don't know how you handle it all. :) Come to think of it, I don't have any excitement in my life. Maybe that's a good thing? I'm not sure. Hope you have a good day today!
Sorry Ryan wasn't feeling well, but I have to admit, I laughed out loud reading this. Our little Carter was fearless like Tanner. I lost him A LOT. (He could vanish in 2 seconds and just didn't care at all that he was gone.) But now he's the opposite and we can hardly get 10 feet away from him. I can't tell you which way is worse. :)
I am sure everything will go fine in San Diego. Just have Ryan keep an eye on Tanner and you can take care of Taylor. Sorry to hear Ryan is sick, hope he is feeling better today. How did you do your background? It is way cute! Is it scrapbook paper?
