I love the cool air.
I love being entitled to covering my lovely love handles with sweaters.
I love wearing thick, wool socks.
I love putting my freezing and balmy feet on my husband's hot legs when I wake up cold in the middle of the night.
I love a nice steaming cup of Postum...and now that I'm out and can't find it ANYWHERE, I'll love settling for a nice steaming cup of hot chocolate mix from the cannery.
I love soup. With cornbread and molasses. And a thick chunk of real butter.
I love layers of clothes on my boys...jeans, long-sleeve t's and sweatshirts.
I love snuggling with my lover under a blanket to just talk.
I love brown. Leaves, dirt, dust, and even mud...to me, it just says "roundup".
I love holiday preparations.
I love Halloween Costumes, crafting inexpensive home-made Christmas gifts, planning three birthdays, and eating out of food storage to afford my illness. :)
I {heart} Autumn!

I have fond memories of picking red leafed branches up at Keetley and Hobble Creek with my dad and siblings...bringing them back home and putting them in a vase on the fireplace or the kitchen table for my mom. She would arrange them beautifully for all to enjoy. Oh, how I wish I could carry on the tradition and find some beautiful red (and I mean RED) leaves in my neighborhood!

Go over by the church. Look at the "extra" parking lot that is across the street from it. Turn and walk right. Turn left at the first block. There is a HUGE tree there that has RED leaves. You probably won't find huge branches on the ground but there was always a ton of red leaves littering the sidewalk. We used to collect them and decorate our mantel (TV console) with them.
I want some red leaves! However, I don't know that my roommates would see the significants in them that we have~ Love the memories & Fall too!
You know Pero comes in as a close second to Postum. In Australia they have it called Ecco.
I love Autumn too...and Spring. It's less extreme that Summer and Winter and such a time for change. And what in the world is Postum?
I love Autumn too. But only since I moved to Michigan where there actually is one :) I must say your beautiful description left me almost liking all the things I hate about the change of the season. Except hot chocolate. Us Women can always agree on chocolate:)
I love autumn, too....but it doesn't feel like autumn right now. went to the beach today and out for frozen yogurt. ♥
i can't wait though, for the cooler days when we can drink hot cocoa.
I am SO with you on loving Autumn! I've already got my hot chocolate in the cupboard, all ready to go.
Oh my. You brought up memories of my Grandpa and Grandma drinking Pero! Bring on Fall!
