I think this is the third time I've been sick since August...uggghhhhh! And I've no doubt been tired in there too. Is there no rest for the weary?!
Despite my abnoxious and annoying and feverish and congested cold, I found some time to enjoy the days I took off to recover.
I probably stitched my germy sickness right into the muslin I was stitching on, but I don't care one bit. I was going crazy, being home, on the couch, blowing my brains out, not being able to tell my kids to settle down, for I had no voice, either. I had to do SOMETHING!
My good friend Beckie was kind enough to teach me something I've been wanting to learn for years...Needle Punching. ...and just in time for Valentine's Day... I think I'm in love!
Here's what I did, in preparation for some upcoming holidays. Please excuse the poor picture quality. I got all of my ideas from Beckie's creative stitches, and just looked back in her blog posts for some design ideas...here's my take on my favorites...lets just say I could use a LOT of practice, so I'll be doing a LOT more!
Beckie started me off with this darling heart. I added the I and the U, but would like to fill in those empty sides with a { and a }.
What some might call a BLOB, I call a shamrock. uhhh....yeah. It needs some help. LOL! I loved this, because it fit perfectly in this 4 inch x 4 inch frame.
This next one was inspired by 'small spaces'. When Easter Time rolls around, I'll put this pretty baby in that 4 inch frame.
And I simply can't wait to find a frame or some fun fabric to frame this next one. I fell in love with this hare the moment I saw him. Isn't he cute?
Thank you Beckie, for helping me learn something new, and feel human when I felt like a zombie for a week. My dishes and hair may have gone undone, but I got in some stitching time!
