2010...the twenty-sixth year of my life, completed with lesson after lesson after lesson.
It was a fabulous birthday with countless birthday wishes, time with family, and reminiscing on years past.
Each year, my dad tells me the same story;
"Oh, I remember exactly what the day was like on February 2, 1984. It had been foggy for a month straight. We hadn't seen the sun in weeks, until you were born. That day, the sun shone and it was warm again."
This year we celebrated for days. My parents and siblings still at home paid us a visit after church, and we had a grand time. Besides opening presents, we took Clay's Eagle Scout pictures and discussed, fitted, and re-fitted Katelyn's Jr. Miss dress. I can't wait to see the finished product! I desperately want to share pictures of this amazing dress, but I'm sworn to secrecy...until April. :)
For as long as I can remember, I've always had a heart-shaped birthday cake. This year was no different. Sometimes Grandma Crandall would make a pink marshmallow (egg white) frosting, and I loved it. This year my mom was brilliant and frosted the heart shaped cake that Deseret made with cream cheese frosting, which I also love, and had made warm raspberry sauce to spoon over each cut piece. It was heavenly!
For family night on Monday, we went to dinner...they boys were on their best behavior, which was a great birthday present. Afterward we went home and played "Don't Eat Pete"...look for a post about this FABULOUS game in the NEAR future.
On my actual birthday, I took Tanner to the dentist to get his teeth cleaned and x-rayed. I had made an appointment Monday morning upon him waking up two nights in a row, screaming his mouth hurt and not letting me help him or even touch him. I wondered if he didn't have an abscessed tooth because of a high fever...I new he had at least two cavities, but thought we'd wait for our tax return to make an appointment. Imagine my surprise (or lack of surprise) when the dentist informed us, very gently, that he had SIX, SIX!, cavities. So, back we'll go on Thursday to spend our tax return on six cavities (we're up to ten now) on Tanner's baby teeth. I regret to tell you I've nobody to blame but myself. And maybe Ryan and Tanner, but I'll take full responsibility.
Here's to another 26 years! Man, that will be old...wait, I know people how are 52! I'd better be careful what I say!

Happy Birthday!!! And...I ♥love♥ Don't Eat Pete!
Good luck with Tanner and the dentist. Katie and I have good teeth, and poor Mr. H got the bad tooth DNA. He's always having something done!
It's probably just Tanner's DNA...
I'm so glad you had a good day! You deserve it. Miss ya.
Happy Belated Birthday!!!
