{Called to Serve}

My darling little sister, Stephanie, received her mission call this week!  I can't believe she's turning 21 already!!!  I feel so old!  I remember when I turned 21...wow.  Since we were gathered for our grandpa's funeral, we met as a family at the Brick Oven after the viewing to watch her open her call!

Sister Stephanie Crandall is called to serve in the
Kennewick, Washington Mission!

She reports to the Provo Missionary Training Center on January 19th, 2011.
Reed had me convinced that she wouldn't fly out to Washington, but ride the Greyhound, instead.

I pulled the map & the following information from the mission website...Just so you can truly appreciate how nerdy I really am.  :)

The Washington Kennewick Mission serves the following areas:
Hermiston Oregon
Kennewick Washington
Kennewick Washington East
Longview Washington
Pasco Washington
Richland Washington
Selah Washington
The Dalles Oregon
Vancouver Washington
Vancouver Washington East
Vancouver Washington North
Vancouver Washington West
Walla Walla Washington
Yakima Washington
__________
Just between you and me, I think I'm going to start job searching these areas for Ryan.  You know, applying for jobs for my husband. So I can sneak in visits to my sister.  :)   I don't know how I'll survive without being able to call or text her every day.  It's going to be quite the adjustment...especially since her phone will likely be 'handed down' to Katelyn.  Funny, that it started out as Reed's and just keeps passing down from one sibling to the next as they leave on missions!

or just ask me.  :)

That's where my good friend, Jake, served his mission. And I'm pretty sure our friends, Trent and Heather, lived in that mission!

Um, so this is so exciting...that is the mission that Tev's parents live in. Perhaps she can eat dinner at their house someday. And even better it could be at Christmas or something and then we could eat dinner with her and tell her wild and crazy stories about your family ;)....

Part of her mission was in the Oregon Portland mission when I served there. I was in two different areas of Vancouver for a year. Plus I have an aunt and uncle who live there! My uncle has been inactive since he was a teenager and my aunt isn't a member. If she ends up serving in Vancouver let me know. She is going to love it! It is such a beautiful area, all of it. So excited for her!

Guess what? I know the mission presidents of that mission! They just got called a few months ago and they're the parents of friends of ours and are in our Stake. Be sure to pass their blog link on to your sister to give her a taste of what's she's in for!

hello. i don't know you, but i found your blog on my cousin's wife's blog...nels and rachel chick. anyway, i just wanted to let you know that i have a great friend in kennewick. her name is angie jarvis and they are fantastic members of the church. her phone number is 509-619-0302. sometimes it is nice to have the number of a friend of a friend when you are headed to a strange place. if your sister runs across my friend angie, she would be very welcomed in her home. and, she makes fantastic homemade bread!
