My printer ROCKS!

I've been wanting to do this for a few days now. Some of you have probably already done this successfully, but I was pretty nervous. I've been stitching my little fingers off, and wanted a 'new' Christmas decoration without all the work of stitching till 2 am.

So I created a graphic...

(feel free to right click, save as, and use this! It's sized 8 x 6.5 inches to fit a frame I already had.)

I adhered some pre-dyed muslin with the spray you use to 'baste' batting to quilt tops/backs. (I dyed it with Postum 3 years ago.)

I made sure the fabric was wrapped around the top and bottom edges just so it wouldn't jam the printer. I'm glad I did! If I were to do it again, I'd just make sure it was wrapped around the top edge; maybe an inch or so...because the bottom came undone from where it was wrapped around to the back. Make sense???

After it was printed, I trimmed the paper down to the exact size (8 x 6.5....weird size to fit in an already existing frame) and re-attached the paper. ***tricky me: I actually printed lines around the image, so I would know exactly where the edges needed to be folded around the paper***

I already had the frame, but I painted it black, then sanded it a bit (how else are frames finished in our apartment?)

...Pretty proud that it actually worked!!! (I hate being a renter...these walls of ours need to be repainted SOOO bad...and a different color, too! )

You are superwoman! I am amazed that you find time to do anything with three kids? Are you getting much sleep?
