So we went to my parents house for the weekend, kind of, and Tanner woke up Monday morning with terribly gross, disgusting goobery eyes - I at first thought he had a runny nose and had wiped it everywhere, but then noticed the goop was coming from his eyes! Allergies? Infection? Too much crying because of Bedtime? NOPE! PINK EYE. Nasty, nasty pinkeye. So, anybody who was around us this weekend, please wash your hands, and don't touch your faces unless you have surgical gloves on because I'm pretty sure you don't want to pay the $79.99 for eye drops (okay, we're poor college students, why don't they just say, "here's the generic stuff"?). Later to find out from Stevie, you can get the same stuff for like less than $20...Go figure.
What's with the bank runnig out of suckers the day I tell Tanner he can have one if he's good (then he's good and there's no suckers when I go to make a diposit or withdrawl....What gives?)
I was on my way to Rexburg this morning to pick up my contacts (I'm so stinking excited to have contacts - I've been wearing my glasses for over a year! - that I cannot wear unless I am for sure that I don't have this pink-eye.) and got a citation...for $75!!! Man! I can't take this! I was going 63 (speed limit is 65) because I was watching my MPG because gas costs two arms and a leg, and then sped up for like 100 yards to pass a really slow car before the construction and was going below the construction speed limit before I got to that sign, and I still was pulled over. "Why were you passing that red car?" the officer asked. I replied, "because they were going 50, and I have places to be this morning and I didn't want to follow them going 50 all the way to Rexburg." "May I have your license and registration, please?" he said. I handed him a few papers from the jocky box and my license and said to him, "I've only been pulled over once in my entire life, and I think these are the right papers...what do you think?" What a disaster!!!! How embarrassing! I'm pretty ticked because this was like THE ONLY time I wasn't speeding and known it!!! PURELY ACCIDENTAL (and both my kids are screaming in the back seat). Some pitty from the officer? Are you kidding me? "Let's see how many mommys we can frustrate today, shal we?" Maybe that's too harsh, and I know the nice officer wasn't really trying to do that, but given the circumstances.....I guess I'll pay the consequence.
What's Next?
(I know there are a lot worse things that I could be blessed with, but these two things in particular have really discouraged me today. Humph. I will post 'happy thoughts' next time. Thanks for reading my vent. There.)

Too funny! even though i'm sure it wasnt at the time. Argghhh! is what I want to shout for you! anyway. hope things are smoother.
So sorry to hear about your bad luck! Especially with the medicine for the pink eye. By the way, as I have been pondering on nursery since you called, I might have come to a conclusion. I didn't ever really see Emma H. up close, but I do remember hearing Janet make a comment that she had runny and goopey eyes. I can't say for sure if she had pink eye, because like I said I didn't see up close to know, but that could be the person who had it. Thanks for letting me know, Lily hasn't had any signs, so I am sure she is fine. I am a little irrated with officers lately too by the way. Russ got a citation too (Don't tell anyone! He would KILL me if he knew I told someone.) He got pulled over not stopping at a stop sign by our house. Do you know how many people I have seen run that sign? NOONE stops at it. Russ claims he did "A California Stop". Grrrr, on you policeman! Uhhh....sorry this was so long!

deanna!
holy cow! at least you have some excitement in your life! i just stay home, clean house, and NOTHING exciting ever happens! :) i've only been pulled over once, err, make that twice but got off with just warning. very long story about the second time being pulled over.
ooo, i would be mad if my boys got pink eye from a kid in nursery. shame on thier parents for bringing them to church!
(i guess only if they knew about it!)
Goodness, I'd be frustrated too!! :P
Were you at church on Sunday?? I dont' remember...if so....uh, I think I may have talked to Tanner....???
Okay, I've been thinking again! I really need to stop doing that! Anyway, when you called last night I felt bad. I really didn't mean to make you feel like I was tattling out someone to you. I just wanted to let you know that I think I might have figured out that Tanner could have picked it up in nursery. I hope that makes more sense. :)

Oh Deanna! I am so sorry! What a day?! I can't even believe it! I have got to come and hang out because I feel like you, I sit home with sick kids, cleaning, and more cleaning, and yeah you know what I mean LOL Anyways...I hope your next week brings A LOT of BLESSINGS to make up for this trying week!!!
Oh lovely pink eye. We've certainly had our fair share with that. The bad news is that it's so blasted contagious. The good news is that it goes away easily with the drops and usually pretty quickly. (And then you can keep the left over drops for the next out break. Because it will come for sure.) Bummer about the ticket. I hate that. I got one a couple of years ago in a construction zone too and my little neice was with me. For months afterward she kept telling her mom, "You need to tell Aunt Lena to slow down." I traumatized her! :)
Oh man, what a day for you! Jeff and I once had a week when both of our cars broke down so we borrowed someone's new Honda Accord, just to have someone run a stop sign and hit us! It definately does come in threes.
Wow - I hope your Friday is better than your Thursday. Rotten days are no fun! Hopefully you will have a peaceful weekend filled with healthy, sleeping children...and a bit of ice cream!
Ugh! Some tough luck! We had to buy a really expensive medication for one of our boys lately, too, so I know how that feels! Hopefully things turn around for ya! ;)
