A few days ago we decided we'd like to get a 'nice-do-it-yourself' family picture to possibly use in a Christmas card...Do you think we were able to get at least ONE picture of our family? That's decent? Most of our two hour 'session' went like this: 
As you can see, this experience was very painful - mostly for me. Ryan just wanted to get back home for homework (bor-ing) and the boys did NOT want to cooperate! I understand letting them play and catching them in 'their element', but Tanner wanted to make this difficult - everytime we tried to sneek a shot, he ducked, turned on his heel, or put his hands in front of his face - wanting more candy...yes, we bribe at our house!But we did manage to find about four photos out of eight-hundred & eighteen - yes, you read that right, 818, that we thought we could doctor-up (next time we'll put our camera on SPORT to catch our FAST BOYS...EVERY. SINGLE. PICTURE. WAS. BLURRY! arrrrgh! >>huff & puff<<
So for your entertainment, I have the 'original' and the 'fixed'. I'm no professional, and think between Conference sessions we'll (read: I'll) try again, but for now, these will have to do! I'd rather just take a picture that is fine, but that never happnes - besides, playing in photoshop is pretty fun when it's not frustrating.
We took half a dozen props - a rocking chair - wooden trucks - a teddy bear - a stuffed puppy - a stick horse - a tricycle - and found some apples, leaves, and flowers...This is what we got:

I know it's not centered, but it leaves a great spot for a warm and toasty Christmas Message from the Poulsen family...maybe. (I lost 6 inches of 'sitting-at-work-fat' in this photo..pretty sweet, huh!) This is THE ONLY picture that we're all looking...so I'll MAKE that empty space work for me! Who said a wall can't be interesting!

This is probably the most decent picture (below), and I had to crop Tanner out...but it was at least focused!
So, there you have it! ...the one of the boys together we've already printed an 8x10 for my 'office' and looking for prices to get an 11x14 for our 'house'...know anywhere for cheap? Then I don't have to do the legwork!

the pics look great and your good at photoshop...I didn't know that's how photographers got such good pictures...it's playing with them in photoshop afterward!! You do a good job! And yes, I got an 11x14 blown up at walmart for like $10 and it hangs in our living room.

Hey Deanna are you for hire? I really need family pictures taken and you do such an amazing job!!! Those are the cutest pictures and I personally love the look of the picture with the wall!!! By the way I was pleasantly surprised to hear "plumb" on your playlist I love her!!
You guys do awesome at pictures, I have been looking at camera's and I have my eyes set on one but it's pretty expensive, what kind is yours? Your kids are so cute.
"Ryan's" camera is a Cannon EOS 40D - I have a little Cannon Powershot A540 - It's new home has been the jocky-box in our car since our trip to Cali - It's been demoted. :( I have fallen in love with Ryan's camera! For Christmas and his birthday he wants a longer lens - we'll have to see. They are kinda pricy, but we justified it thinking we'd use it more...or something like that. :)

I know EXACTLY how you feel about not being able to get your boys to cooperate! Its so frustrating when they are always running off or won't look at the camera. Man, you did a great job with photoshop, I really really need to learn how to use it.
Your boys are so darling! Great pictures...my favorite though is the first one! Hee hee! Enjoy looking at all your beautiful filled fruit jars on your shelves!

I love all the pics! It makes me laugh because trying to get all your kids to look at once is ooo hard but I guess that's where the memories come in... I love them all! You did a really good job, very tallented!
