I woke up to the sound of soft pitter-patters on the sidewalk this morning...not my preschooler running around, but light rain.

I love, love, love rain!
It's so refreshing, cool, calming, and peaceful. (with the exception of torrents of rain - which I still love to watch and hear and smell, it just brings on a more exciting feeling)
For the first time in months; no, years; I woke up with dishes done, laundry folded and put in their spots, organized drawers, and a relatively clean house! It was absolutely wonderful!!! Before I went to bed last night, I made myself do the dishes, fold AND put away the laundry, and pick up toys. It was so invigorating!
Ryan had mentioned that he 'couldn't find Tanner's clothes' to dress him properly (and sensibly) so when I was putting clothes away, I flipped on the light at midnight (our boys sleep through almost anything!) and emptied out drawers, refolded and nicely stacked and reorganized clothes in BOTH BOYS' dressers! I felt so productive!
I wouldn't have been so productive had it not been for our wonderful neighbors across the street blasting Brazilian hip-hop till two o'clock, though. So, Thank You, courteous humans!

ah i love the rain!! it is so relaxing and almost cleansing i think...i just feel better after a good storm. i'm impressed with all you did last night! sheesh! blasted neighbors!! we used to have neighbors that would wake us up in the middle of the night yelling at their kids and each other, it was fabulous
Look at you taking something negative (noisy neighbors) and turning it into a positive (organizing) - I probably would have just called the cops on them ;) And I love the rain too. I am glad you had a good day!
i love waking up to a clean house! there is absolutely nothing like it! :) at night, i am always exhausted, but, in the morning, it makes it very rewarding and makes for a nice day! (well, a few hours until the house is a wreck again!)
