Ryan: "Will you eat Shrimp?"
Deanna: "You can fix it up, but I'm not guaranteeing anything."
{Friday Evening} After work
Ryan: "Don't come in the kitchen....We have a surprise for you!"
Deanna: "OOH - I'll just sit here on the couch, then...I wonder what it is!"
Ryan, bless his sweet heart, fixed this wonderful meal - the presentation was great, and he even left the sauce off to the side for me. I had every intention on trying to eat the shrimp - I even dipped it in the sauce, fixed a separate bowl of melted butter, and all...but when it came right down to it, I just started bawling, because I couldn't stomach it! Ryan even tried to bribe me with $100 per shrimp...but it didn't make a difference. I did slice a little bit and ate it on my fork with some of the stir-fry, but it took everything in me to keep it down. I guess I just thought about it too hard.
This is the first meal in a LONG time that our kitchen table has been clear of EVERYTHING but our food - usually there's a stack of mail or something....I was expecting to have walls of apple boxes, but you can see Ryan put them on the floor. What a good hubby! (He even fixed Tanner his very own gourmet meal - a corndog...what a lucky little boy!)
Thanks, Dear, for being so thoughtful and kind! You are wonderful!

Do you not like shrimp or what? Whats that story?
i'm not a big seafood fan myself...but agreed, the presentation is gorgeous! what a sweet hubby and dad!
Yeah - I cannot stomach any kind of sea food. I think fish are beautiful, and it's not the taste I don't like, although it contributes to my not liking it, I can't handle the texture of sea food - after I bit into the first shrimp, I lost it - the texture was revolting to me - even though some people absolutely love it...Sorry! My sea food relationship has been flushed down the toilet more than once! There you have it!
Wow, what a husband! I hope you're enjoying work and having a bit of a change in the daily schedule. I remember when I was a working mom teaching school in Cayman. It's not easy, I have to say! (They weren't so flexible on my late nights...) Have fun being breadwinner for a little while, and I'm way impressed with all those apricots canned!
Wow!!! Is he for hire? I would have to say that I am quite impressed:)
Shame I was gone. I LOVE seafood. Tell Ryan to come over here and cook next time he gets the urge to make seafood :-)
Oh man, I feel you, shrimp...I just can't down it. What a sweet husband though, maybe you can make it up to him some other way:)
Oh wow! VERY Yummy looking! I love shrimp...wish I'd been there...I'd of helped you out... :)
What a sweet husband! That food looks awesome! I loooove fish, but shrimp isn't my fave. But still, I would have probably gobbled it just for the fact I didn't have to make it ;) I am glad things are working out for you guys with you working.
Awww...that's so sweet. I'm not big on shrimp but I can eat it occasionally.
That is awesome! Its those simple, thoughtful acts that keep relationships alive.
Can I get that recipe? It looks REAL GOOD!
Pitty you don't care for seafood. But, to every one their own.
Wow! Ryan is quite the cook--he needs to come give Mike cooking lessons sometime!
I wish my husband would cook ANYTHING. His idea of making dinner opening a can of soup. I can't do seafood either, it is mostly a texture thing, although the smell is revolting to me. And having a cleared off table is wonderful! As soon as you have more kids around the table you kind of have to keep it cleared off so all of you can fit.
That food looks like it came out of a magazine! What a sweet husband. Our poor shrimp-loving guys. The first time Robert tried to feed me shrimp, i was in major morning-sickness mode, and now I get pukey every time I even think about it... let alone smell it or see it, or heaven forbid try to eat it. Oh well. I hope work is going well for you. I hear from Lisa that you guys are judgine for the state fair 4-H sewing projects. How fun!!!
Hahaha! Don't jinx me like that Deanna. No--the throwing up was from Loratab (I guess it hurts your stomach) and I was a little sick of Calvin's driving by the time we got back. :) How is life? Do you like your new job? :)
