Try-It-Thursday

Elena - you started something!!! I forgot about Tuesday's Try-It Menu, but today is Thursday, to techincally, as Elena said, it's still T-I-T day. :) for some reason that makes me smile...laugh...yeah. Maybe we change it to T-I-M day or T-I-F day...naahh - T-I-T day it shall continue to be. Enough already.

I've got a one word menu for you...

ready...

Buffalo.

You read right - an oversized bovine of fur. Technically, not, but that's what we had for lunch. Roast Buffalo. I have no suggestions, no thought on the matter, end of statement except for this: I didn't try it. I know. I was raised on a Cattle Ranch - not a Fluffalo Ranch. :) I like my beef, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. Especially after seeing this adorable fluffalo spread out in my parent's basement - Actually, not just one but TWO buffalo hides are in my parent's basement. My dad is wanting my mom to make him some sort of buffalo robe for scoutcamps and such (we're really into scouting in our family - and all that comes with it) which I think is really neat, but I am having a hard time swallowing what is covered by the hide...I'm not one to really venture out on food - I like my stake and potatos and PB & J, if you know what I mean.

Anyways, Happy Eating!

P.S. If you'd like to try some buffalo, let me know and I'll have you over for buffalo steaks or something...really - I'm totally willing to share that meal with anyone!

I had buffalo tongue once... my grandpa tricked me by saying it was chicken. It actually wasn't too bad. I don't think I'll eat the tongue again, the rest might be okay though.

I've had it a few times, it's really good, like beef but MUCH better, and leaner too. :)

OH I am laughing so hard at this!! So great! We had a buffalo roast once with Jarom's parents and we also had a beef roast. (There were a lot of us.) NONE of us tried to buffalo one. I'll bet it doesn't taste any different, but still....it's just the thought. Why are Americans so weird with their food? Hilarious about you dad, sounds EXACTLY like my dad. Good luck with those steaks!
