Have I mentioned that I have an awesome job? Yeah. I've been taking a bunch of days off, using vacations time, to stay home with my boys and have fun while Ryan types away on his paper.
Today was one such day. I usually take a nap any time I can, especially when I'm at home. *giggle* But today, I broke out the sewing machine to work on a formal dress project, and ended up doing the following instead.
I had the idea for this framed shamrock that was supposed to hang on my front door...like the "Warm Hearts, Warm Hands", but I couldn't think of a cute welcoming saying. I do love this fun little saying, so I stitched it up, and it's on my piano. The best part, is the 8" opening and 2" chuncky frame was perfect, and on sale because the glass was broken out of it. Statched that baby up at Michael's for three bucks back in January. I've been dying to put this together!!!
The next one came about because I could not use the frame on the front door like I had wanted...My neighbor has a darling "Welcome" sign that hangs vertical like this, and I thought to myself, "Why can't I do something vertical???" After digging through my tote with CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS and all the fabric I used for them (so I can make Taylor and now another little boy a stocking), I came across this cute green between some candycane and holly material. I KNEW it would be perfect with the thick green satin ribbon.
And as I was placing the shamrocks on the ribbon, Taylor woke up from his nap and so I gave him my jar of buttons to dump out and sift through. We found some cute green and yellow ones...So fun!!!
So, besides sometimes getting a nap, I get to craft during nap time. I love it. I particularly love that I moved my sewing table into the living room from my bedroom where it was a night stand and pile-all for scout stuff. Now I don't have to lean over the piano bench when I sew!
hmmmm.....Now onto more springie and Easter-y decorations....

Oh such cute things!! I don't have anything shamrock-y. I should get my rear in gear and make something.
Cute Deanna! I love those! I do read your blog all the time. Congrats on your pregnancy. Someday... when I have lots of time... I'm going to make some of those cute things!

I love it! How do you accomplish that all during nap time? That project would have taken me at least a week or two!
So cute - as usual.
And I loved reading about your trip to the zoo. I had to laugh because the first time I took Anna to the zoo I totally missed that exit. I think I even blogged about it. lol. Then when Ross came with me the next time (after mocking that I couldn't find the exit) he almost missed it too! Seriously. They need to rethink that one!
