Reflecting, Remembering, Rejoicing

It's late. I'm wide awake. My boys are asleep, all snug and warm, all three peacefully dreaming. I have so much on my mind, I just can't wind down!!!

I love that we recieved some much needed moisture this morning, though I admit, my first thought was, "Awwwe. We just want to play in the warm sunshine!" We had a skiff of snow, but it melted by the afternoon. Grass. Beautiful, brown, matted grass.

I love thinking about what I did as a child with my younger siblings to 'keep busy' - I pray that my children will have the same wonderful experiences of playing in the dirt, making music, and chasing each other around the kitchen table and tripping each other with the knocked over chairs.

I love that I am a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. In a Sunday School class I attended yesterday, the discussion was about "magnifying" our calling - we discussed the difference between magnifying and embellishing. I'll be honest, I love embellishing...when it comes to scrapbooking. But, I am also guilty of embellishing my 'callings' and have worked towards magnifying them. Yeah, it's nice to give a birthday gift, but it's more nice to remember the little things, the details - I've got work to do in this area. Magnifying is taking the responsibilities and doing the little things that make the calling what it is. Magnifying is not puting more under the concave looking-glass. Haven't we enought to do already without complicating matters? Just a thought, and I've quite enjoyed thinking about it...how I can apply it. I even find joy in thinking how much stress will leave if I just magnify, and not embellish! Hmm.

This is not meant to be a soap-box post, so forgive me if it sounds so. I am merely posting my thoughts...trying to think of 'happier' things than cleaning the toilet, scrubbing the dishes, and filling up the gas tank with outrageously priced fuel!!!

Love your new template! It is too cute! It appears you have already mastered the art of digital scrapbooking. Don't worry about being soapboxy, this is YOUR site to write what you want!

Deanna you are so neat. I loved reading what you wrote! And I agree you get to write whatever you want on your blog! Thanks for the great thoughts and I think we all should take time to reflect on the things we love and appreciate more often!!
